Nota sulla memoria di Ausiàs March nel Seicento e nel Settecento: le bio-bibliografie

Abstract

RIASSUNTO: Il presente saggio si propone di indagare la diffusione dell’opera del poeta valenciano Ausiàs March nei secoli xvii e xviii, e dunque nel periodo che segue il grande successo riscosso nel Cinquecento, secolo in cui March è praticamente l’unico poeta catalano ad essere pubblicato e tradotto in castigliano. L’articolo tenta dunque di rintracciare notizie relative ad Ausiàs March negli scritti dei bibliografi valenciani dall’età barocca al Settecento, mostrando come egli diventi da poeta celebrato e ammirato un semplice ricordo da evocare negli studi di erudizione. Infine, si mette in evidenza come anche le informazioni su March circolanti in Europa derivino dai lavori di questi studiosi.

ABSTRACT: This study has in aim to investigate the presence of the Valencian poet Ausiàs March in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, after the great success of the sixteenth century, when he is practically the only Catalan poet to be published and translated into Spanich. The article focuses on the informations on March in the writings of Valencian bibliographers of the Baroque age and of the eighteenth century, and shows how one passes from being a poet admired to a simple memory for scholars. Also, it shows how the news circulating in Europe about March comes from these scholars.
